Baptism is offered to anyone who lives in the parishes of the Bridgnorth Anglican Team Ministry.

If you are not resident, but have special reasons why you want the baptism to take place here, you will need to explain why, and obtain consent from your own vicar.

.In baptism, a person becomes a member of the church, and is welcomed by the church family. For this reason, baptism is intended to take place within the regular church service.

If baptisms take place at other times, arrangements are made for the church congregation to welcome the newly baptised within a main service at a later date.

All churches offer baptism within their main Sunday services.

At St Mary Magdalene in Bridgnorth, baptisms can also take place on Sundays at 12 noon, as we recognise that it is not always possible for family and friends who are coming from a distance to make it for an early service. Sadly this means that it is not a service which is attended by the regular congregation, and so we ask parents to bring the newly baptised along to church at a later date, when they can be welcomed by the church family. These 'Acts of Welcome' take place within the 10.30am Family Communion on the fourth Sunday monthly.
