About St Gregory the Great, Morville

Our church is in a totally rural setting, within an enclosed area in a field, and includes a car park, and a driveway. The building was completed in 1118, and retains almost all of the original Norman features. It was constructed within the precincts of a priory establishment, destroyed in 1540, leaving the church as the parish place of worship. We are adjacent to National Trust buildings, which attracts us many visitors.
We now have quartz halogen heating, and in the base of the tower, a redesigned vestry providing toilet and kitchenette. Our bells have been retuned and additional bells re-swung, in an upgraded ringing chamber, all of which we are very proud.
As a parish we have village support of some 275, plus outlying farm and hamlets of 100. We enjoy the benefit of active fundraising and other voluntary support, and the cooperation with and participation from the CofE primary school, together with activity groups who use the modern village hall.
Our services are based on the Book of Common Prayer:
1st & 3rd Sunday = Communion, 2nd Sunday = Family Service/Sunday School, 4th Sunday = Family Service, 5th Sunday = Healing Service.
We have our own organist, and all services include hymns.
